Get away to it all this February half term across Liverpool! There has never been a better time to get out and about around the city, whether it be days out, activities or even free things to do.

To help ensure your half term break is bursting at the seams while not breaking the bank, we have put together a list of things to do that the whole family can enjoy.

Knowsley Safari

Prescot, Merseyside L34 4AN

This February half term holiday, Knowsley Safari is making it more affordable to create family memories that last a lifetime – with half price admission on all children’s tickets, from 11th to 26th February 2023. 

Children aged up to 15 years will enjoy half price entry with a full paying adult, and under threes get in for free.

Eureka! Science and Discovery

The Beatles Story

If you’re little ones fancy themselves as the next big musician from the city, then a visit to the Albert Dock’s Beatles Story is one to visit.

Full to the brim with all things Beatles, the immersive tour recreates famous Beatles locations and the lives and careers of Liverpool’s world-famous band.

Otterspool Adventure

Let the kids unleash their energy and make tons of memories this half term at Otterspool Adventure.

With outdoor activities, a 12-hole adventure golf course, and inflatable pillows to have lots of fun on, there is also a Harry Potter themed show on throughout this half term.

Catalyst Museum

FREE THINGS TO DO

Croxteth Park & Hall

Croxteth Hall Lane, Liverpool L12 0HB

There is nothing better than getting out in the fresh air and a wander around Liverpool’s Croxteth Park and Hall definitely does the trick.

The outdoor space is perfect for activities for all the family, from a kick about with a football, bike and scooter rides, dog walking, and if the whole family are looking to keep fit it’s the idea place to get your jog on!

Croxteth Park Farm is also located within the grounds and is a bargain of a price to enter and feed the animals.

Sefton Park

Sefton Park, Liverpool L17 1AP

Covering 200-arces, the beautiful Sefton Park offers not only tons of open green space to walk around, but there is also a lake to capture the amazing wildlife.

During your visit you can head over to the breath-taking Victoria glass Palm House, which houses over 200 plants some which are extremely rare.

Crosby Beach

Crosby, Liverpool L23 8SY

Liverpool’s Crosby Beach is renowned for being the permanent home to Antony Gormley’s ‘Another Place’ sculpture.

The stunning sandy beach has sand dunes and a promenade that the family can walk along while enjoying the beautiful coastline views. Also, plenty of opportunities to get them candid shots with the Iron Man sculptures.

Formby Beach

Victoria Road, Formby, Liverpool L37 1LJ

Offering acres of sandy beach, sand dunes and pine woodland, Formby Beach has plenty to keep the kids entertained.

With tons of open spaces, you can also make if a full family affair by bringing your four-legged furry friend. A wander around the woodlands is also perfect to keep all the family feeling zen.

TATE Liverpool

Royal Albert Dock, Liverpool L3 4BB

TATE Liverpool is bursting with amazing exhibitions, with a majority of them free to visit! Entry into the museum is also free for everyone and has something for all the family to enjoy.

Alongside the different exhibitions in the gallery spaces, TATE Liverpool also offers an array of workshops for the family to get stuck into this half term. Workshops include ‘Explore and Draw’ which runs daily from 10.00am-5.50pm where the family can get involved in drawing challenges.

Museum of Liverpool

If taking a brisk walk down the Pier Head, why not pop into the Museum of Liverpool? Admission into the museum is free, with the museum offering a fascinating, diverse history of Liverpool for everyone to enjoy.

Children’s galleries include ‘Little Liverpool’ A hands-on fantasy world especially for children under the age of six to play and learn, the ‘Social and Community History’ collections strong in the areas of popular culture and entertainment, working life, labour history, politics and public health, perfect for the older kids.

Merseyrail

Getting around Liverpool City Region with the family has never been easier with a Merseyrail Family Ticket. A Family Ticket covers a family of up to 5, either 1 or 2 adults with children aged 5-15 for just £13 and gets you to all the places you need to go in the city region. From Southport to Wirral, over to Chester and around the City Centre, getting around has never been so easy. 

Mersey Ferries

No visit to Liverpool is complete without a trip on the famous Ferry ‘Cross The Mersey. Jump on board the River Explorer Cruise for a 50 minute tour across the Mersey. Guided expert commentary provides you with a whole host of facts about Liverpool and Wirral as you take in the beautiful views.
