A new scheme gives Liverpool’s night-time workers a safe ride home

A new scheme is making free tickets available for night-time economy workers in Liverpool to use the city’s Night Bus until January 2025.

Liverpool BID Company and Stagecoach have made 500 free tickets available for people working in the night-time economy and at hotels in the city centre to use the Night Bus service from September until January ‘25.

Stagecoach’s N1 Night Bus service runs between Liverpool and Birkenhead, operating a route from Allerton Library, Lodge Lane, Myrtle Street, Liverpool ONE Bus Station, Whitechapel and Birkenhead. It runs between midnight and 5.30am.

Bill Addy, CEO of Liverpool BID Company, says the scheme is about encouraging more late night workers to use the service.

“We know that the last thing you want to do after a late night shift is to struggle to get home. The launch of this Night Bus is for those working in the night-time economy and our hotels and hospitality venues, as well as revellers. The Night Bus was re-introduced in December 2023 and we want to remind people about the service as it gets colder and darker in the winter months.”

Liverpool BID will be making 250 free tickets available for night-time economy workers and 250 available for Accommodation BID levy payers. Regular tickets are £2.
