The fully washable cloth face coverings have been designed with the support of clinicians and innovators at Alder Hey. Fully tested by the BSI, the coverings have been designed to balance filtration and comfort and feature an anti-viral coating tested against COVID-19.

They are available for adults and children (over 3 years old) and come in  two colourful patterns. The child-friendly designs cost £7.50 each (exc. post and packaging) with all profits going to Alder Hey Children’s Charity.

Made from the finest 450 thread Supima cotton, these premium quality, double layered cloth face coverings  are available in three sizes – Adult (14+), Mini (8+) and Child (3+) and feature an adjustable strap and aluminium nose bar to ensure a better fit and to stop glasses from fogging.

All profit from the sale of these items is being used to fund additional cloth face coverings for use at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital by patients and visitors.

The Charity is calling for Super Hero supporters to help raise awareness of the campaign by sharing their pictures on social media with the hashtag #MyAlderHeyShield.

Charity Ambassador Jess Weaver, 12 has already raised over £10,000 for Alder Hey Children’s Charity and was keen to support the campaign. Jess loves her cloth face covering and said:

“Not all superheroes wear capes, some wear just a covering. I love the NHS.”

Fiona Ashcroft, CEO of Alder Hey Children’s Charity said:

“We are delighted the Alder Hey cloth face coverings are available to the public, in shops and on our website. 100% of the profit is given back to the hospital to help fund the provision of additional cloth face coverings that are given free to patients and visitors attending Alder Hey. The child friend designs along with the amazing quality, fit and comfort have made them an instant hit on our website and people are buying several so the whole family can support the hospital and look amazing while also helping to stop the spread of COVID-19.”

The cloth face coverings are made in partnership with UK cotton manufacturer English Fine Cottons.
