Amanda Harrington creates first cook book ‘At Home With Miss Harrington’

Former model and reality star Amanda Harrington has always been an avid cook but used lockdown to create an Instagram page that quickly amassed over 10,000 followers.

The former Desperate Scousewife and model has created her first cook book named ‘At Home With Miss Harrington’.

The mum-of-one, who was taught the basics of cooking from her late nan and grandad, has always been a keen cook and enjoyed rustling up new dishes based on her travels.

During lockdown, Amanda began posting new dishes on her Instagram page before she was inundated with requests for the recipe.

She set up a separate page named @athomewithmissharrington and quickly amassed over 10,000 followers.

She explained:

“I really could never have dreamt of writing my own cook book. I started posting meal inspiration in the first lockdown in 2020 as I was on a health kick and was trying to stay accountable and the response was overwhelming. I then posted a new recipe everyday and having the cooking account gave me purpose during lockdown when so many people felt lost.”

Amanda first started cooking at just 19, when she had her daughter Savannah, and found herself running a household. Trying to be the best mum possible, Amanda joined a six week cooking course and loved every minute of it.

She said: “I learned to cook things I’d never tasted before and soon enough, realised I absolutely love to entertain. I love the prepping, setting the table, creating the dishes and having everyone around and putting a smile on their faces.”

At Home With Miss Harrington features over 90 recipes from breakfast dishes to healthy and fakeaway recipes, to warming slow cooked dishes, to flavourful Italian, Greek, Mexican, Indian and Asian fusion food.

Amanda has also included her take on Liverpool’s famous dish, Scouse, as well as a guide to creating the most delicious Sunday roast dinner, seafood dishes, a Spice Up Your Life section and indulgent desserts.

The socialite turned kitchen queen added:

“The dishes are so varied so you won’t get bored as you work your way through the book. There’s lighter dishes for the times you want to be really healthy and quick lunches, or there’s slow cooked dishes that you can put your all into. I’ve created a From The Heart chapter which is also packed with winter warmers, and there’s everything from spicy dishes to pastas, tasty kebabs, and there’s a whole section on the humble potato cooked five different ways!

“From family one pot dishes, to date night ideas, easy brunch recipes or dishes perfect for dinner parties and entertaining, there really is something for everyone in At Home With Miss Harrington.”

At Home With Miss Harrington is available to purchase directly from www.athomewithmissharrington.co.uk for £15.99 and will be available on Amazon from May 2022.
