City centre based coffee shop thrives post lockdown

Bold Street’s popular coffee shop and wine bar, Ropes & Twines has thrived post Coronavirus pandemic being busier than ever!

The city centre based coffee shop, which specialises in sourcing coffee beans from all over the world and rotating them every two weeks, has found that it actually had to change very little within the venue to adhere to Covid-safe advice, as it already adopted them pre-pandemic.

With the provision of table service, tables being a metre apart and two entrances; one to enter and one to exit, Ropes & Twines simply introduced some hand sanitiser and it was ready to reopen.

Of course, the staff have implemented a robust cleaning regime, but these were practices the wine bar adopted and has always prided itself on.

The new Health & Safety guidelines have in fact made it easier for Ropes & Twines to showcase its concept properly to new guests, and with table service now compulsory, offer even better and really consistent service.

Ropes & Twines is renowned for its quality coffee, relaxed and welcoming environment, friendly staff and of course, it’s unheard of wine offering.

At the wine bar, bottles of wine can be purchased at retail prices (just like you’d pay in the supermarket), with guests paying a flat corkage fee of £7 per bottle. This way, those visiting Ropes & Twines can enjoy an expensive or nice bottle of wine and ensure they’re not paying over the odds to drink it in a venue.

Bottles that aren’t finished can also be taken home!

Allison Whorton, General Manager of Ropes & Twines, said:

“Being closed during lockdown was tough for many businesses, but we’re lucky that we’ve emerged from the pandemic and our concept fits perfectly with the new guidelines.

“Of course, we want to assure our guests that we have intense cleaning regimes in place, and we’re adhering to all the necessary guidelines, but we did have our tables spaced apart, two different entrances and table service beforehand. Having these measures enforced has only made our guests’ experience even better.

“And with the addition of high speed internet and a new dedicated workspace for those not returning to the office just yet, we’re looking forward to welcoming our loyal regulars and new guests alike.”
