This evening at 8.00pm the Clap for Our Carers campaign will see people all across the UK applaud the courageous work of the NHS.
The thank you is dedicated to all the NHS workers who are
tirelessly working throughout the pressure of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic sweeping
the UK.
People across the UK will be able to applaud from their
doorsteps, balconies or windows of their homes. NHS workers are classed as frontline
key workers, making it extremely difficult for them to take time off, in the
meantime also putting themselves at great risk of getting ill from the virus.
Frontline NHS staff are currently not getting the protective
equipment that they need in order to treat coronavirus patients. Healthcare
workers in hospitals throughout the UK have been voicing their concerns and
frustration over the lack of personal protective equipment known as PPE.
Workers have explained that they are having to substitute the
correct equipment with less effective items or even improvise with non-medical
materials.
What is the aim of Clap for Our Carers?
The campaign is to show all our appreciation from doctors,
nurses, GPs and everyone other NHS worker during the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.
The appreciation will be shown through a nationwide round of applause taking
place on Thursday 26th March.
Those joining in should applaud from their front doors,
windows, gardens and balconies, making sure to keep a safe distance from other
people.
Participants are being encouraged to live stream through
their social media channels.
Similar events have been held already in countries including
Spain, France and the Netherlands.
During these unprecedented times they need to know that we
are grateful, so please join in this evening at 8.00pm for a big applause to
show all nurses, doctors, GPs and carers how much they are appreciated for
their ongoing hard work and fight against the virus.
Please share this message so we can make sure the word spreads and reaches all to join!
