Clubbing brand founders launch fundraiser to produce PPE for the NHS in Liverpool

The founders of Circus, Chibuku, ENRG & award-winning Slater Street bar The Merchant have purchased, from their own money, a series of 3D printers which will enable them to produce PPE masks which can be used by frontline NHS workers in Liverpool.

The team have 6 high volume 3D printers and from tomorrow, Tuesday 21 April, will start producing masks ready for delivery to workers fighting the COVID-19 outbreak in our city, aiming to produce 1000 units per week.

Rich McGinnis, one of the founders of the brands added:

“We noticed local Liverpool lad Paul Heneghan had started out with one printer and making some trial pieces so we decided to join forces to help buy more printers, provide more space for production and assembly and use the reach of our collective social media to get the word out.

Special thanks to Joe Anderson and LCC who helped get key worker status for everyone working on the project. We have had a great response from suppliers, most of which are offering raw materials at cost price and helping get deliveries to us as fast as possible as they know it’s for PPE.”

The appeal is hoping for £10 000, which will help fund materials and additional printers to increase production across 10 printers in total. The fund is already at £2430 with 73 supporters after launching a few hours ago.
