Mandela8 and Liverpool BID Company are asking Liverpool residents to celebrate Nelson Mandela International Day by means of Acts of Kindness.
Nelson Mandela International Day shines a light on the legacy of a man who changed the 20th century and helped to shape the 21st and takes place on Thursday 18 July 2024. The day is used as a moment to renew the values that inspired Nelson Mandela, and to examine how his values should inspire us to take action and make a change.
Mandela8’s Mandela Day: Acts of Kindess campaign (formerly ‘My 67 Minutes’) encourages everyone to take time out of their day to do something for someone else or for their community.
Liverpool BID Company are planning a series of events you can get involved with to give back to others and be kind to yourself on 18 July, including community litter picks and mindfulness sessions.
Acts of Kindness include mindfulness sessions and litter picks at Old Hall Street, Hope Street and Princes park along with a litter pick and boat cruise with the Canal & River Trust.
Bill Addy, CEO of Liverpool BID Company said:
“Acts of Kindness are a truly transformative practice that change how we interact with eachother and our city. For businesses it is a moment to consider their role in our community and society and to be part of the hustle and bustle of the city for a day”.
Businesses can add their Act of Kindness here.
