The 50-minute River Explorer Cruise is the absolute best way to discover Liverpool and the perfect family friendly day out, offering unrivalled views of the world-famous waterfront. 

There will be expert live commentary from a Blue Badge Guide on board selected sailings over half term that will reveal many surprising facts about the ferry and the River Mersey’s history – ideal for mini historians in the making learning about their city. Plus, on Wednesday, 27 October you can sail past Royal Caribbean’s ground-breaking ship Anthem of the Seas, whilst it is docked at Liverpool Cruise Terminal, and learn lots of interesting facts about the fantastic cruise liner from the knowledgeable Blue Badge Guide (live commentary on select sailings only).  

Live commentary from a Blue Badge Guide will take place on the following sailings: 

  • Tuesday 26 October: 1pm, 2pm and 3pm 
  • Wednesday 27 October: 1pm, 2pm and 3pm
  • Thursday 28 October: 1pm, 2pm and 3pm

Our expert recorded commentary will play on all other River Explorer Cruise sailings.

Cruises depart daily from 10am-4pm Monday to Friday and 10am-6pm Saturday, Sunday, and Bank Holidays. Cruises depart Pier Head Ferry Terminal on the hour and Woodside Ferry Terminal at twenty past the hour and can be booked online at www.merseyferries.co.uk

Passengers are strongly recommended to book their tickets online before they arrive at the ferry terminals as capacity is restricted. Passengers can travel on any scheduled cruise on their chosen date (subject to availability). 

Under-fives travel free, children aged between 5-15 are £7, and an adult ticket is just £11. Further discounts apply for families, groups, over 60 and NUS card holders.
