Liverpool independent restaurant and food hall Delifonseca reaches out to the local community with a food package delivery service amid self-isolation and food shortage concerns.
Starting on Tuesday March 17, Delifonseca will be delivering food bundles to customers in the local area.
As shoppers face the prospect of empty supermarket shelves and self-isolation, Delifonseca Dockside is inviting customers to create their own weekly food shop, choosing from a wide range of products, including basics such as bread, milk, pasta and eggs plus meats from Edge & Son Butchers and chilled deli counter items. Delifonseca chefs will also be recreating dishes from the restaurant menu for customers to enjoy at home.
The city has experienced wide-spread bulk buying over the last week, leaving some without essential items. With concerns rising over the prospect of self-isolation for the elderly, the next-day food delivery service could be an important lifeline for many. The concept also provides peace of mind for relatives living away from the city by giving them the option to send a package to elderly family members based in Liverpool.
Many independent restaurants and bars are facing the prospect of closure as self-isolation and social distancing gather pace. Delifonseca’s new service offers customers the opportunity to have hand-picked, essential supplies delivered to their door, while also supporting a local business, staff and suppliers.
