Free Kyiv tickets for Ukrainians across Merseyside for charity fundraising game Everton v Dynamo Kyiv at Goodison Park.
Everton is liaising with councils across the Merseyside region to distribute free tickets to Ukrainian refugees for the upcoming ‘Match for Peace’ against Dynamo Kyiv.
The Club is working with the six councils; Wirral, St Helens, Sefton, Knowsley, Halton and Liverpool, to ensure families who have been housed across the city region as part of the Government’s ‘Home For Ukraine’ scheme have the opportunity to attend the game.
The charity fundraising game at Goodison Park on Friday 29 July (7:45pm KO) is the first played in the UK by Ukrainian giants, Dynamo Kyiv, as part of their ‘Match For Peace’ initiative.
To mark the occasion, the Club is donating free tickets to local councils to benefit the hundreds of Ukrainian families who are being housed in the region, having escaped the war in their homeland.
Everton manager Frank Lampard said:
“We are delighted to work with councils across the city region to extend this invitation to the Ukrainian refugee families and their hosts living here on Merseyside.
“We are committed to doing all we can to help those people impacted by the shocking war in Ukraine.
“This game provides a spotlight on that fundraising activity and by raising funds together, we can help those affected by the ongoing conflict.”
Proceeds from the game, including supporter donations, will go directly to humanitarian charities supporting the people of Ukraine.
Each local council will liaise directly with the refugees in their area in order to distribute the free tickets for the game.
Everton’s support for Ukraine during the ongoing conflict with Russia led to Club majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri extending the invitation to Dynamo Kyiv to play their very first ‘Match For Peace’ on British soil at Goodison Park. Dynamo have also played games in Poland, Turkey, Croatia, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France and Belgium since the start of the war.
Everton supported Ukraine by wearing the logo of the Disasters Emergency Committee Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal on shirt sleeves for the final 10 games of the 2021/22 season.
The Club also contributed £250,000 to the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal in March – a total matched by Everton’s majority shareholder and Chairman Bill Kenwright.
General tickets for the Dynamo Kyiv game – the Blues’ final game ahead of the 2022/23 Premier League season – are now on general sale, priced at £15 for adults (18 to 64-year-olds) and £5 for concessions (under-18s and over-65s).
