Only opened in January, the Indian Tiffin Room on Duke Street has quickly become the favourite Indian street food restaurant in Liverpool, customers have described it as “phenomenal” and “out of this world.”

Inspired by the busy streets of India, the 102-cover restaurant on the site of the former Mayur restaurant has welcomed over 5,000 diners from all over the northwest to enjoy its real Indian street food.

In the first 12 weeks after opening, the restaurant has sold more than 2,300 of their famous Dosas, a rice, lentil, or semolina-based south Indian pancake dish that is traditionally eaten for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The most well-liked small plate is the chicken lollipop, and butter chicken, chicken tikka in a tart tomato-based sauce, is the most popular dish on the menu.

The Nimbu Lychee, a non-alcoholic “softail” menu item, is the most popular drink at Indian Tiffin Room, which also offers a wide range of signature and custom cocktails. Indian Summer Passion is also quite popular.

Co-founder Srini Sundaram said:

“Our first three months trading in Liverpool has been incredibly positive, and our guests have fast become regular clients in a very short space of time.  Repeat custom and positive word of mouth endorsement has ensured that the venue is bustling with our covers showing healthy growth across the board.  Our customer feedback has been nothing short of spectacular, and the reviews have been glowing, resulting in increased advance bookings”.

Co-founder Suresh Raje Urs said:

“With sister sites in Cheadle, Leeds and Manchester, we knew Liverpool was a perfect fit to grow the brand.   We are delighted with the warm welcome we have had here and are delighted to be able to showcase our authentic Indian street food as part of the busy Duke Street leisure scene”.

Indian Tiffin Room food is an exciting amalgamation of various regional dishes which are very popular in different parts of India. The menu is healthy, less influenced by heavily flavoured spices and filled with the authentic flavours of India.
