Liverpool John Lennon Airport saw the first-ever departure by Jet2.com and Jet2holidays with celebrations to mark this milestone occasion for the airport.
With the full flight leaving for Tenerife, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays officially launched their Summer 2024 programme and began offering award-winning flights and holiday packages from Liverpool. Following this inaugural flight, holidaymakers took off for Lanzarote, one of the most popular sunny destinations for the Easter holidays.
On the first day of travel, there were celebrations at the airport where hundreds of vacationers received VIP treatment, which included a red carpet welcome and personalised gifts. At an exclusive launch event, customers were treated to entertainment by a Beatles tribute band while they waited to board the first flight. Holidaymakers also received prizes and giveaways.
With a fleet of four based aircraft flying customers to a wide choice of destinations across Mainland Spain, the Canary Islands, the Balearic Islands, Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, Portugal, Madeira, and Cyprus, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have a total of 20 sunshine destinations on sale for Summer 24 from Liverpool.
For the operator’s first summer of operation out of Liverpool, this is a major schedule that includes up to 54 weekly flights during peak times and 565,000 seats available for purchase.
Ever since offering flights and holiday packages from Liverpool, independent travel agents and customers have shown an incredible amount of demand for both Jet2.com and Jet2holidays. Consequently, the airline and tour operator have already expanded their Summer 25 itinerary to include additional routes and aircraft.
The companies have also recently announced the launch of their first ever Jet2.com and Jet2CityBreaks Christmas Markets programme from Liverpool John Lennon Airport. Flights and city breaks are now on sale from the airport to Krakow and Prague for Winter 24/25, meaning the companies have a total of ten winter destinations on sale for their first winter of operations from Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
