LightNight announce 2022 event to be Paused

LightNight 2022 will not be taking place on Friday 20 May this year, statement below:

LightNight 2022, which was due to take place on Friday 20 May, will now not take place. This decision has not been taken lightly. We’ve all been experiencing the same challenging whirlwind of uncertainties since March 2020, and our aim with this pause in the production of our annual festival, is the long term sustainability of LightNight, and the wellbeing of the whole team.

We are very grateful to the hundreds of amazing artists and organisations we are very lucky to partner with year on year. We’re also very thankful for the continued support from LightNight funders Arts Council England and Liverpool City Council through Culture Liverpool, our principal sponsor Liverpool John Moores University, our sponsor Liverpool BID Company, plus of course our valued LightNight Steering Group and the wider team of incredible freelancers and volunteers. All of whom help make LightNight the mighty event it has grown to be.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding, we hope that you and your loved ones continue to stay safe and well. Let’s look out for each other and show each other plenty of kindness.

We look forward to updating you on LightNight 2023.
