Liverpool Apple Store offers free sessions for kids this Easter

The Apple store in Liverpool is offering free sessions to keep kids entertained this Easter – and learn new skills in the process.

The Today at Apple sessions – designed specifically with kids in mind – last one hour and offer the perfect excuse to try something new in between browsing for Easter gifts.

The first session, Art Lab for Kids: Make Your Own Emoji, will see kids learn fun ways to create their own emoji. Apple experts will show them how to draw colourful faces and objects, and they’ll get hands-on using the Procreate app on iPad with Apple Pencil to draw an emoji to take home.

Workshops are taking place at:

  • Friday 7 April, 3:00pm – 4:00pm
  • Saturday 8 April, 2:30pm – 3:30pm
  • Saturday 15 April, 1:00pm – 2:00pm
  • Parents and guardians can sign up here

The second session, Coding Lab for Kids: Code Your First App, gives you the chance to code and create as a family with Swift Playgrounds using iPad. Kids will experiment with code and design an app using the About Me playground. They’ll use Swift code to customise their app with fun fonts, background colours, Memoji and more. Then you’ll work together to bring their app to life. Recommended for kids aged 10 and up.

Workshops are taking place on:

  • Tuesday 11 April, 6:30pm – 7:30pm
  • Friday 14 April, 4:30pm – 5:30pm
  • Parents and guardians can sign up here

Video Lab for Kids: Adventures in Moviemaking offers kids aged 8–12 the chance to take part in a fun and imaginative moviemaking experience. Apple experts will show them how to create short videos from start to finish using the Clips app on iPad. They’ll learn how to plan, experiment with transitions, and make their movie shine with Memoji, stickers, posters and more.

Workshops taking place on:

  • Friday 7 April, 4:30pm – 6:00pm
  • Friday 14 April, 6:00pm – 7:30pm
  • Parents and guardians can sign up here

Finally, Music Lab for Kids: Making a Theme Song gives kids a chance to create a theme song for their favourite TV programme, book or game using GarageBand on iPad. Recommended for kids aged 8-12. Apple experts will cover rhythm basics, and kids will get hands-on with experimenting with Smart Drums, adding pre-recorded loops and remixing their theme song. For sessions with amplified sound, hearing loop technology is available on request.

Workshops are taking place on:

  • Saturday 8 April, 3:30pm – 4:30pm
  • Wednesday 12 April, 4:30pm – 5:30pm
