Liverpool-based creative brand and merchandise specialists Wild Thang is throwing its weight behind the incredible work of the NHS during the Coronavirus pandemic.
The business, which is based on Derby Road in Bootle, has specially created a range of T-shirts carrying messages of support and awareness.
Half the purchase price of all T-shirts bought will go to good causes, and a number of T-shirts will be sent to front line NHS workers.
Funds raised through the sale of T-shirts will be donated to the NHS Charities Together appeal https://www.nhscharitiestogether.co.uk/
There are four T-shirt designs to choose from, available in adult and children’s sizes.
One T-shirt displays the wording You’ll Never Walk Alone – which Wild Thang chose as a positive and empathetic message to say thank you to NHS staff and recognise their ongoing and tireless efforts during this global medical emergency.
Three further T-shirt designs carry the messages of I Love NHS; Team Social Distancing; and an image of a rainbow.
One T-shirt has already been despatched as a very special delivery heading to 99-year-old Captain Tom Moore, who has captured the nation’s hearts with his fundraising for the NHS.
Andrew Dwerryhouse, Managing Director of Wild Thang, explained:
“We screen-printed social distancing T-shirts as our last job before lockdown for our Wild Thang team who would be working from home. But it made us eager to take that step further, do more to help, and help make a difference.
“Our creative team designed a range of NHS-themed T-shirts that people could buy to wear and show their appreciation. We shared the idea on social media and received such fantastic feedback so we asked people to vote for their favourite designs. The four most popular are now available to buy through our new web-shop which we’ve set up specially for this campaign.
“For each T-shirt purchased, we have committed to donate 50% of the purchase price to NHS Charities Together or send a T-shirt to NHS staff working on the front line as they’re in urgent need of extra clothing garments. We want to make sure our NHS heroes really know they will never walk alone, and we can continue to raise awareness in the fight against Covid-19 – one T-shirt at a time.”
The T-shirts are Wild Thang’s latest action of support for the NHS during the crisis. Following a desperate appeal recently from Clatterbridge Cancer Centre for clothing for front line NHS staff to wear between travel and changing into uniform/scrubs to help reduce infection, Wild Thang donated 28 large bags of items including T-shirts, hoodies and tracksuit bottoms.
Wild Thang has also donated branded tote bags to Liverpool Women’s Hospital for staff to transport their uniform to work. The company is also proudly displaying a large banner at its Derby Road headquarters carrying a message thanking NHS staff and key workers.
Wild Thang Managing Director Andrew Dwerryhouse continued:
“Like many other UK businesses, our sales have understandably slowed down since lockdown so initiatives like this will also help Wild Thang to move forward during these worrying times. We cannot wait to be back up to full strength and doing what we do best, and welcoming staff back to work when guidelines allow.
“It’s been one of the toughest times in our 24-year history, but as a company we always strive to make a difference to those around us. It’s part of our ethos. It’s the Wild Thang Way! Thank you to all NHS staff and key workers, you are all real-life heroes.”
