Movema launch Liverpool dance classes for all the family with FREE créche every Saturday morning 10.30am from their base at Toxteth TV on Windsor Street L8.
Every Saturday morning there will be two classes running simultaneously; one adults class in the main studio (also known as Videodyssey) and one kids class next door in the Movema studio alongside the crèche with toys and specialist care for little ones. There is also time at the beginning of class to have a cup of tea and relaxed social time with other participants.
Senior Associate Artist Sheetal Maru says:
“It’s really important for Movema that everyone gets to benefit from excellent cultural experiences. We’ve designed the programme especially so that people of all ages can participate, especially offering a FREE creche for kids under 4 so that parents can join in, get fit and meet new people!”
Regular Participant, Christiana says: “I wanted to learn how to dance but I realised it’s so much more than that! It’s so great for me and my mental health, as a new mother, to have a little bit of time for myself.”
Movema classes are known to be fun and friendly with dances from Africa, China, India, Brazil & more! Providing time for participants to reconnect with each other after lockdown and feel part of a community. Movema’s highly-trained artists have experience in lots of different world dance styles and make sessions accessible to everyone, regardless of background or dance experience.
Class Participant and community Performer Tamara Adamayk says: “I love that Movema connect people from all different backgrounds, ages, communities, & organisations. I’ve been coming for seven years. I feel SUCH a difference in my mood when I come to their classes!”
Associate Artist Lauren Croxford says:
“The sessions are really flexible, we run them as separate adult and child classes in side-by-side studios, but there are options to stay with your child in the class or creche or if your child is older and more able they can pop into the adult session, there are also opportunities to come together to share and dance throughout the sessions!”

Prices start from £7, with free spaces available for those not in full-time employment, students, and people seeking asylum & refugees and the creche is always free.
