Liverpool is a city bursting at the seams when it comes to sport, so when we heard about a new activity that involves being outdoors, water and pooches can be involved also, we were intrigued to learn more! The Liverpool SUP Co is a business based here in Liverpool, providing Stand Up Paddleboard lessons, sessions and courses. Proving to be a massive hit last year and a huge success, this sporting activity is a refreshing addition to the sporting scene.
This fantastic idea will see people getting more active while enjoying the great outdoors, also being a low impact sport means, everyone can get involved… even your four-legged best friend. Jayne Rigby a marine conservationist, who is part of the team at Liverpool SUP Co, runs SUP and PUP sessions with her dog @oscarseyepatch, which allows participates to paddle along with their canine companion. Jayne also runs 1-1 sessions for people to learn everything from the basics of SUP and onwards, and group sessions which are a great way for families and friends to get active together while having fun!
Jayne’s talents do not end there, she also runs regular beach cleans from Crosby to Southport and runs plastic paddles along the docks collecting any floating rubbish she finds along the way. So, what can we expect for the coming summer months with Liverpool SUP Co? The company is looking at setting up SUP safaris in the summer, with attendees having the opportunity to paddle and chat to about conservation, and they will even be doing a Board & Birding session for all the bird watchers out there!
Also, this year SUP/Yoga and SUPfitness classes will be available for all sporting fanatics to take part in, meaning this company is bringing a whole new concept to the sporting game to the city, so keep your eyes peeled!
