Lu Ban ‘Wows’ at Official Launch Party

Liverpool’s glitterati celebrated the opening of the highly anticipated Lu Ban restaurant in exquisite style last night.

This new addition to Liverpool’s culinary scene in the Baltic Triangle, entertained the city’s socialites and business leaders with an array of Tianjin delicacies and traditional Chinese entertainment including authentic dragon dancers and classical Chinese singers.

The exclusive launch party was an opportunity for the Lu Ban team to wow their guests and further raise the profile of the restaurant and its unique Tianjin-inspired cuisine.

Those who were lucky to be there were given the opportunity to see the stunning transformation of the former Cain’s Brewery, with each of the restaurant’s private dining rooms hosting interactive food experiences showcasing the immersive food and drink delights on offer.

Executive chef Dave Critchley and his team dazzled with their traditional Tianjin style dumplings in the Food Lab, while guests were treated to a stunning selection of perfectly paired food and wine combinations in the magnificent Wine Room.

Lu Ban General Manger Peter Ebbutt said: “It was an incredible night celebrating the opening with some of Liverpool’s finest. The city has been so welcoming and we were delighted to be able to showcase the new restaurant in all its glory.”

During the evening, the Lu Ban team were also raising money for their nominated charity, Radio City’s Cash for Kids. Through the generosity of those attending, the team raised more than £2k from a raffle and an auction, of exclusive private dining packages including an amazing ‘Chef For A Day Private Dining Experience’.

The restaurant, which has been receiving rave reviews since it opened to the public last week, is billed as a ‘new era for Chinese cuisine in the city’ as Lu Ban takes its culinary inspiration from the city of Tianjin – home to the famed Tianjin School of Cuisine.

Its impressive menu is bursting with exciting dishes and its private dining options offer unique spaces for discreet, luxurious meals with a difference.
