Metquarter to support small businesses and local markers with Christmas Winter Market

Liverpool’s Metquarter will support small businesses and local makers this Christmas, welcoming a takeover by one of its retail tenants.

The Art Quarter Liverpool will present the Artisans in the City Winter Market which will run 11am – 5pm, on Saturday 3 December. This brand-new event taking place on Metquarter’s upper level will showcase the incredible work of 22 local artists just in time for the gifting season.

Run by a group of independent artists, The Art Quarter understands the importance of supporting local talent and the market will help Christmas shoppers to sustainably tick off items from their lists while supporting businesses close to home.

Confirmed stallholders at the event include By Maggie Naturally, creator of beautiful handprinted silk scarves; Bee Shack, a Liverpool beekeeper who will sell locally made honey; Lazy Kate Textiles, textile specialists who run workshops across the city and jam experts, The Liverpool Jam Company. The market will also include ceramics, wax melts, jewellery, photography and much more.

An unmissable opportunity to pick up one-of-a-kind gifts, cards, decorations and artworks, the Winter Market is a must-visit event for Christmas shoppers and anybody intending to spend their money with local, independent businesses and artists this year.

Jennina O’Neill, Metquarter Centre Manager said:

“We are delighted to be working alongside The Art Quarter to bring the Artisans in The City Winter Market to Metquarter this Christmas. It has been a difficult time for businesses and people across our city so it’s so important that we get behind local talent when we can. At Metquarter, we are champions of independent business and creativity, so we are thrilled to be able to give 22 local creatives a platform to showcase their products.”

Metquarter’s mix of local label, creative arts and high fashion retailers will remain open throughout the event, turning the centre into a true one-stop-shop for every kind of Christmas shopping. The GPO will be serving up a range of food and drink options while Everyman’s schedule includes a selection of unmissable Christmas films in its irresistibly warm and friendly atmosphere.
