New Italian restaurant brand, Riva Blu has officially opened its doors, bringing style, glamour and sass to modern Italian dining in Liverpool.
Located at No.1 Castle Street, the 130-cover restaurant from Individual Restaurants is part of the company’s new vision for 2022 and takes its name from the Italian word for shore ‘riva’, which depicts the beautiful Amalfi Coast with its wonderful restaurants, scattered vineyards and enchanting views of the dramatic coastline.
‘Blu,’ the colour of tranquil seas, is also reflected in the branding as well as the restaurant’s plush nautical-inspired interiors.
Adopting the Italian belief that good food is a celebration of life, Riva Blu promises to satisfy all appetites with an extensive menu including sharing plates; bruschetta and antipasti; salads; pasta, risotto and ravioli; pizza; steaks and a wide selection of mains.
Over sixty classic Italian dishes feature, all made from the finest locally sourced ingredients and delivered with flair.
Signature plates include the Linguine with Lobster (£29.50), Burrata Pizza (£14.75), a Tagliere Misto sharing platter featuring Parma ham; Coppa di Parma; bresaola; salame Napoli; buffalo mozzarella; pecorino; buffalo ricotta; olives; sun-dried tomatoes; chargrilled artichokes and a bread board (£25.00), and four different cuts of steak, each cooked to perfection (£22.50 – £31.50).
A generous selection of desserts provides the perfect sweet finish with Bombolini, Italian doughnuts filled with Amalfi lemon, Nutella and vanilla cream (£7.75); Tiramisu (£7.75), and Baileys Panna Cotta (£7.75) among the highlights.
For those looking to sit back and sip something chilled, the drinks list at Riva Blu will have you embracing your inner dolce vita. Choose from classic Italian cocktails including a Bellini and Aperol Spritz or get acquainted with the restaurant’s extensive cocktail selection including signature drinks Cry Me a Riva, a blend of watermelon vodka and passion fruit liqueur with raspberries, peach, lemon and cranberry (£8.85), and Take Me Somewhere Tropical, which combines mango vodka and Aperol with passion fruit, pineapple and lime (£8.85). Zero alcohol options are available too.
Guests can also choose from an extensive selection of Prosecco, Italian wines, beers, spirits and liqueurs including the classic Italian digestif, Amari. All can be enjoyed in the restaurant, at the beautiful bar, or on the restaurant’s impressive terrace.
A series of special dishes and limited-edition menus promise to make key calendar dates ones to remember. Spreading the love over three-days opposed to one, Riva Blu’s special Valentine’s Day dishes, available from Saturday 12th to Monday 14th of February, promise to sweeten the romantic occasion, whether you’re treating yourself, looking to impress a loved one or raising a glass with treasured friends.
