Radisson RED Liverpool celebrates its arrival in style

New hotel, Radisson RED Liverpool celebrated its arrival in style with its launch party treating guests to a mix of live music, DJs and dancers.

Located in the city’s iconic North Western Hall, next to Lime Street train station, the hotel opened to the public in December, marking the brand’s first site in the north of England.

The Grade II-listed building, which was originally designed by local architect Alfred Waterhouse in 1871, has undergone a massive renovation project, with a number of its original features being preserved and restored, including a nineteenth century stained glass window and a grand sandstone staircase.

Initially opened as a British railway hotel due to its direct connection with Liverpool Lime Street train station, it has now been brought back to its original purpose.

Last night’s event paid tribute to the building’s rich heritage and affinity to the city, with 1920s-themed dancers entertaining guests and a special tribute performance to The Beatles.

DJs including local favourites Anton Powers, Sie Austin and Tommy Mc all took to the decks throughout the evening, while Liverpool singer and InDemand Radio presenter Marc Kenny also performed.

Guests were also given the opportunity to sample dishes from the hotel’s modern barbecue and robata grill restaurant, Stoke, with favourites such as Stoke sticky fried chicken and Tempura squid being served, complemented with locally inspired signature cocktails.

Gary Waring, General Manager at Radisson RED Liverpool, said:

“Since opening two months ago, we’ve been welcomed with open arms by Liverpool. Being a scouser myself and knowing the history attached to this building, it’s been incredible to watch it being brought back to life and come full circle to become a hotel once again.

“The team has worked hard to create a unique place that pays tribute to the city’s bold and vibrant culture, while also giving a nod to the building’s story.

“It’s been fantastic to officially mark our arrival in the city and we’re looking forward to what the rest of 2023 holds for Radisson RED Liverpool.”

Radisson RED has presence in other UK locations, including the multi-award-winning Radisson RED Glasgow and all-new Radisson RED London Heathrow.
