Popular Italian restaurant group, Riva Blu, has launched a mouthwatering new autumn/winter menu that celebrates the authenticity and inspiration of Southern Italian food and is set to take diners on a journey to the heart of Naples and the Amalfi Coast.
Launching this week across its four restaurants in Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester, the new menu truly encapsulates the finest ingredients this region has to offer – from rich San Marzano tomatoes to juicy Amalfi lemons, the abundance of quality ingredients is engrained in the restaurant’s Neapolitan heritage.
Diners can expect to indulge in unforgettable pizzas made using Riva Blu’s own ‘biga’ dough, created by Master Baker, Davide Argentinto, soul-warming pasta dishes, grass-fed steak sourced from world-class producers and farms across Argentina and the British Isles, and modern street food from Italy’s stunning southern coast.
The highlight of the new menu is the ‘Staples from Naples’ which includes a selection of street food such as Frittatina Cacio e Pepe, a rich Neapolitan deep fried mac and cheese with smoked provola, Pecorino and black pepper, and Italian favourites like Napoletana pizza, a white base pizza with Italian sausage, friarielli, smoke provola and chilli, as well as Candele alla Genovese pasta, short pasta tubes with Neapolitan beef and onion ragu, that rival even Nonna’s cooking. These dishes will transport diners to the backstreets of Naples, providing delicious yet authentic flavours.
When it comes to delicious Antipasti, the new menu doesn’t disappoint – from traditional Bruschetta al Pomodoro, made from vine ripened plum tomatoes with garlic, oregano and fresh basil served on toasted ciabatta, and Arancini, crispy truffle risotto balls with an Italian cheese sauce, to Calamari, fresh deep fried squid with courgette, red pepper and garlic mayonnaise.
Traditional pizza and pasta dishes are also celebrated across the new menu, with gluten free variations available on request. Guests can devour Linguine al Gamberoni, a pasta dish comprising of succulent king prawns, courgette, chilli and flat leaf parsley, all topped with a wild red king prawn. For pizza lovers, the Capricciosa is a perfect harmony of San Marzano tomato, chestnut mushrooms, Italian roast ham, mozzarella and crispy Leccino olives.
Expert mixologists will serve up delectable cocktails inspired by the bright, exuberant Amalfi coast, featuring Iconic Aperitivo’s such as Negroni, Aperol Spritz and Hugo Spritz. An unrivalled wine, beer and spirits menu is also on offer, including Southern Italian Malfy gin served with its own unique garnish and choice of Fever-Tree tonic. For those wanting to enjoy alcohol-free variations, there is the Born-Again Porn Star, Raspberry and Hibiscus No-jito, Take Me South and Crodino Spritz available.
