If delicate flavours of South-east Asian are your favourite cuisine or maybe you’re a newbie at trying Thai dishes, then we would highly recommend you pay a visit to the Royal Albert Dock’s latest addition, Rosa’s Thai Café.
Bringing that bit of zest to the stunning waterfront, the restaurant offers not only a lunch and dinner menu, there is also a Thai food takeaway and delivery service. Taking over two floors in the historic Britannia Pavilion, Rosa’s is a refreshing addition to the Docks and is the first of its brand to open outside the capital.
Serving up an array of authentic Thai dishes prepared with seasonal British ingredients, the venue is centred around an open theatre kitchen inviting you to catch a glimpse of the chefs creating tasty invigorating dishes to indulge. Delighting us with their own recipe curry options such as Rosa’s Green Curry (Thailand’s best-loved curry) one of the placed best sellers, Stir-Fried Beef with Black Pepper Sauce (Rosa’s own stir-fried sauce) and Rosa’s signature Butternut Squash Red Curry, the menu caters for all offering Gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options upon request. For those with room for dessert there’s also a concise selection of traditional and refreshing sweets such as ‘Mango & sticky rice’ and ‘Coconut cream ice cream’.
The venue takes you to the far East, keeping it simple the design retains the original open brickwork of the building, with the huge arches looking out onto the docks and the vocal point of the open theatre kitchen in full swing, Rosa’s put the sustainability at the heart of everything they do. Proud to have been born in Thailand and raised in the East End of London, Liverpool has now become home to a little gem all thanks to Thai chef and founder Saiphin Moore.
Launched by Saiphin and her husband Alex in London’s iconic Brick Lane in 2008, Rosa’s Thai Cafe is renowned for its punchy and flavoursome Thai food inspired by Saiphin’s family recipes, utilising the best in authentic Thai ingredients alongside locally-sourced British produce. With the success of the popular group of restaurants located in London, we think this new kid on the block will be a prominent favoured social haunt for the Dock scene.
