LFC’s official charity, LFC Foundation announced today that Sir Kenny Dalglish and Ian Rush will manage the Liverpool FC Legends when they take on Barça Legends at Anfield in March.

Sir Kenny Dalglish will manage the Reds with Ian Rush acting as Assistant Manager, when they play the Spanish giants on Saturday 28th March 2020, in aid of the LFC Foundation.

The Club’s Official Training Kit Partner, AXA, is the Presenting Partner for the LFC Foundation Official Legends Charity Match 2020, reflecting its commitment to the Reds wider football family.

The global insurer, which became the Club’s Official Training Kit Partner this season (2019/20), shares the Club’s goal of promoting healthy lifestyle and well-being, as well as hosting a range of mass participation events and experiences for fans.

The Liverpool FC Legends will be hoping to maintain their unbeaten record at Anfield in the clash between the European history makers and claim another victory in front of the Kop.

There is a stellar line-up confirmed for the Reds Legends for the line-up, including Luis Garcia, Patrik Berger, Jerzy Dudek, and for the first time back playing at Anfield; Fernando Torres, Jose Enrique, and Fabio Aurelio.

The Barça Legends side will also feature some fantastic footballing talent, including Edgar Davids, Patrick Kluivert, Juliano Belletti and Javier Saviola.

Matt Parish, Director of LFC Foundation, said “We are delighted to have Sir Kenny and Ian on board for our upcoming charity match at Anfield. Their involvement adds a wealth of experience and passion that will spur on our Reds Legends, producing a highly competitive and fun game, which will hopefully secure another victory on home turf.

“The support of AXA as presenting partner is another fantastic addition to our event and adds real gravitas. We are looking forward to working alongside the AXA team and maximising the impact of this high-profile charity match.

“To date, our fans have helped us to raise £2.8 million through their support of our charity games, which we are grateful for. Their generosity enables us to continue delivering a range of impactful programmes and partnerships that help to transform the lives of children and young people across the Liverpool City Region and beyond.”

Ulrike Decoene, Group Head of Communications, Brand and Corporate Responsibility at AXA, added: “I am proud that AXA is the presenting partner of this year’s LFC Foundation Official Legends Charity Match at Anfield. The game will undoubtedly be another successful event in aid of the Foundation and provide a fun fulfilled day for fans and their families.
