Liverpool is set to open its welcoming arms to a new Irish pub on South Road in Waterloo.
Hoggins Irish Pub will be the latest venture from Liverpool family-based Pub Group, Circle and Hen.
The old-fashioned Irish Pub will open its doors on Saturday 25th March, and will be creating employment for five members of staff.
The Irish pub will be the second Hoggins in the city, with the first one located in Old Swan. It will also be a welcome addition to the Circle and Hen Group’s portfolio since launching in the region in 2019. The family-based business prides itself on their motto of ‘more local’ by using fresh ingredients for their menus, local suppliers and recruiting and retaining staff within local areas.
The independent Irish Pub will play a mixture of 80s music and Irish music, alongside live bands and singers. Food will also be served, with dishes such as fresh homemade burgers, including the ‘Boxty Burger’ a firm Irish traditional favourite. Takeaway options will also be available. The venue will be family friendly, with children welcome, with accompanying adults.
The drinks menu will be packed with Irish Whiskey, and of course the signature drink Guinness, as well as an array of beers, spirits and wine.
A spokesperson for Circle and Hen Group said:
“Liverpool is renowned for being the second capital of Ireland, and we wanted to add to the success of Hoggins in Old Swan with a site on the busy South Road in Waterloo.
“It took us nearly a year to find the right premises for the pub, and South Road is a very special place for our company, being so close to the beach , so it was the perfect fit for our latest venture.”
The excitement of the upcoming opening of the venue served up some craic, with the new venue’s sign being put up on the wrong building! Whether it was down to too much Irish Whiskeys, they quickly realised, and the sign was taken down and put up on the right premises.
Hoggins Irish Pub will be open 7 days a week, Monday-Thursdays from 2.00pm until midnight. Friday and Saturday from 12.00pm closing at 2am. Sunday opening from 12 until 12.
