Stepping Through Film – Thomas Duke

Ever wanted to EXPLORE locations across the city where some of your favourite films have been shot? Well look no further as Stepping Through Film is a bright amazing concept brought to us by Thomas Duke, location scout, film explorer, artist and overall creator!

The idea took off just over a year ago and can only be explained as the most amazing experience of his life so far. Thomas’s love to visit various film locations began in his favourite city London, which has led him to many different locations across the nation capturing some iconic scenes of box hit movies.

Thomas says: “I visited Paris on holiday over the summer and so was able to do a little scout there and since then I have stretched myself to travel to further afield locations in the UK. I’m driven to visit scenes from my favourite films and so this then led me to Liverpool!”.

Recreating scenes through photography, the images are not only fascinating but also unique, making you feel you’re in that actual space and time the clip was shot! With images shot at various locations across Liverpool such as Stanley Dock (Sherlock Holmes) and most recently St Georges Hall (Fantastic Beasts) this form of art is something spectacular.

Further afield images have seen Thomas produce beautiful replica scenes in locations such as Paris, France for Mission Impossible, Whitehall London for Atonement and Dunkirk, France for Dunkirk.

Head to Thomas Duke’s account @steppingthroughfilm for images and shot of some movie greats and be intrigued and captivated by an experience like no other.
