‘Friends of Everton Park are excited to be collaborating with ArtsGroupie to bring our heritage tour to life. Everton Park not only offers the most beautiful panoramic views of our city it’s also trenched in history with the park playing a key site with the historic battles of King Rupert. We are excited to welcome families and community members from across the city to relive the story through captivating street theatre.’
– Danielle Azanuwha (Friends of Everton Park Trustee)
“We continue to develop our work with local communities to explore and enjoy our rich heritage. We have provided tour trails for the St Georges Quarter, Liverpool One and are currently working with the Liverpool Irish Festival on the Liverpool Irish Famine trail.
As a small theatre company lockdown forced us to work differently and we started to see the outside environment as potential theatre space. Pavements for performance, so to speak.
We created an engaging Liver Bird safari walking tour, an alternative way to learn our City’s history, spotting the 100 Liver Birds in the City Centre. This has funded our new outdoor family interactive play, The Liver Bird, which toured parks in Liverpool City Region and played Shakespeare North Playhouse in July this year.
We are delighted to collaborate with Friends of Everton Park and amplify the important historical significance of this pace. One of the best panoramic views of the pool of life too.”
