Wirral’s Woodside Ferry Village named in the Top 12 city-based food markets in the UK

Wirral’s Woodside Ferry Village has been named in the Top 12 city-based food markets in the UK by Visit Britain.

The popular food hall, based at Woodside Ferry Terminal, has been included in the exclusive list due to its diverse range of food and drink, regular weekend markets and panoramic views over to Liverpool.

Opened in June 2019 by Wirral Chamber Of Commerce, Woodside Ferry Village has transformed the former ferry terminal booking hall into a vibrant dining space — with all sorts of mouth watering food and drink on offer.

Open Wednesday to Sunday, there’s an abundance of flavours to try — with unrivalled views over to Liverpool — with two newly launched bars, Pausha wine and cocktail bar and Murphy’s gin and beer bar and outdoor markets every weekend.

The food and drink vendors inside the venue consist of Scooby’s (American burgers), Haku (Japanese fusion food), Joro (vegan food), Caffe Cream (coffee, cake and ice cream), Fayre (English cuisine), Alex’s Pita (Greek food), Ena Pa (Caribbean cuisine) and the Murphy’s Gin and Pausha bars — a diverse range of international food and drink.

The waterfront hub has some great offers such as 20% off on Wednesdays. There’s also the very generous bottomless brunch offer — featuring a main meal of your choice and unlimited Prosecco, Mimosas, Bellinis and Aperol Spritz for just £27.50 from 2pm until 4pm every weekend. Woodside Ferry Village is also an ideal destination for a private function — with incredible views over to Liverpool and a gorgeous terrace.

The recent accolade from no other than Visit Britain, the British Tourist Authority, is testament to how far the venue has come. The Woodside Ferry Village concept now has 9 vendors within the terminal building as well as weekend independent markets that attract an abundance of local makers, bakers and creators who offer a wide range of artisan goods, open every weekend between 10am and 4pm.

Wirral Chamber Of Commerce CEO, Paula Basnett, said:

“We’re thoroughly proud of being included in this list alongside the likes of Borough Market in South London and Manchester Piccadilly’s Street Food Market. It’s a great recognition of how hard the team here have been working during the past three years — creating something unique in Wirral that promotes local independents.”

Laura-Jane Dodd, of Wirral Chamber Of Commerce and Independent Wirral markets added:

“The regular weekend markets here at Woodside have been a huge success — showcasing hundreds of different independents over the past year since we formed the concept.”

“We have created the perfect platform for our local makers, bakers and creators to showcase their products in this fabulous location. Wirral Chamber Of Commerce is all about promoting local businesses and at Woodside Ferry Village we truly feel we are achieving this.”

Woodside Ferry Village is located at Woodside Ferry Terminal and is open Wednesday to Sunday, with weekend markets operating in chalets outside on Saturdays and Sundays.

The venue offers quality food and drink from local independents, with panoramic views over to Liverpool, and was recently voted in the Top 12 food city-based food markets in the UK by Visit Britain.
