Classic Football Shirts’ pop-up shop in the Metquarter Shopping Centre will feature more than 2,500 shirts dating back from the 1980s to the present day, and all are available to buy.
Close to 1,000 Liverpool and Everton jerseys will be available throughout the activation, which will be open for a fortnight starting Thursday next week (25 August).
“It’s been three years since we were here last and we’re really excited to return,” said Ciaran Gold, head of retail at Classic Football Shirts.
“Liverpool is one of the greatest footballing cities in the UK and we were blown away by the response we had back in 2019 at the Albert Docks.
“We wanted to come back, and our customers wanted us to come back. So what better time is there to return than during the Merseyside derby.”
The collection, which only features genuine shirts, will also feature hundreds of clubs from around the world as well as national teams.
While there will be rails dedicated to blue and red sides of the city leading up to and after the derby on Saturday 3 September, travelling Bournemouth and Newcastle fans for the games at Anfield on Saturday 27 August and Wednesday 31 August respectively will have sections of the shop allocated to them.
Stock will be replenished throughout the pop-up’s 14-day duration to ensure some of the most sought-after shirts are always available.
And with prices ranging from £15 for recent team jerseys up to £400 for the rarer ones, there’s something for every budget.
“It’s important for us that everyone can go home with a shirt that is part of footballing history,” said Ciaran. “Whether you’re an avid collector of some of the most sought-after shirts or are just looking for something fantastically obscure, there’s something for you.
“For our customers, our stores and pop-ups are part-shop, part-museum. Whoever you support, just being able to see some of the incredible shirts worn in the past 40 years in the flesh is an unrivalled nostalgia trip.
“While we have been online since 2006, nothing beats physically seeing all these shirts in one place.”
Classic Football Shirts is based in Hyde, Manchester and in addition to its two permanent shops in London and Manchester, has more than one million shirts available to buy at www.classicfootballshirts.co.uk
The Classic Football Shirts pop-up will be situated in Unit 7 of the Metquarter from Thursday, 25 August to Wednesday, September 7.
