Cazoo, Everton’s shirt sponsor and principal partner, has today announced the return of its popular ‘Goals For Good’ initiative that sees the UK’s leading online car retailer donate £1,000 for every goal scored in the Premier League by the Blues this season to the Club’s official charity, Everton in the Community.

The ‘Goals For Good’ charitable initiative was launched by Cazoo at the start of the 2020/21 Premier League season and saw Cazoo donate £48,000 to the Club’s charitable arm after the Toffees netted 46 goals at Goodison Park and once in the Cazoo Football Derby v Aston Villa which doubled their donation to the charity to £2,000 per goal scored.

Rafa Benitez’s Toffees kicked off their 2021/22 Premier League campaign in style with an emphatic 3-1 victory over Southampton at a packed out Goodison Park on Saturday. Goals scored by Richarlison, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Abdoulaye Doucoure means that £3,000 has already been raised for Everton in the Community by Cazoo’s ‘Goals For Good’ initiative.

Established in 1988, Everton in the Community delivers more than 40 programmes a year, specifically designed and developed to tackle social issues which are prevalent across Merseyside such as mental health, employability, dementia, education, disability, poverty and homelessness.

The staggering £48,000 donated to Everton in the Community by Cazoo at the end of the 2020/21 season enabled the charity to support more people than ever before through essential outreach work and support across Liverpool City Region and an independent evaluation recently commissioned by the charity to quantify the added amount of societal value that its work has on the local community and the city region as a whole has shown for every £1 invested in the charity, £14.74 of societal value is generated for society meaning that Cazoo’s £48,000 Goals For Good donation equates to an incredible £707,520 of societal value generated.

Cazoo is one of the fastest growing businesses in Europe and is pioneering the shift to online car buying and selling. Cazoo has already sold over 35,000 cars in the UK since its launch less than two years ago as consumers have embraced the selection, transparency and convenience of buying and selling quality used cars entirely online.

Alex Chesterman OBE, Founder & CEO of Cazoo said
:

“We are delighted to be supporting Everton in the Community for a second season, a great charity that uses the power of sport to educate, motivate and inspire people in the local communities around Liverpool. It’s going to be an exciting season and the more goals scored the happier we will be to support more of the incredible work Richard and the team are continuously delivering.”

Richarlison, Everton Football Club forward said:

“Myself and my teammates are very excited about the return of ‘Goals For Good’ by Cazoo. It is a very generous initiative from our main partner and I hope to score as many goals as possible home and away this season to help Everton in the Community help even more people in need in the local community.

Richard Kenyon, Everton in the Community Chief Executive Officer said:

“We are delighted that ‘Goals For Good’ is returning for a second successive season and we are very grateful to our Official Partner Cazoo for their continued support of our charity. ‘Goals For Good’ raised £48,000 for Everton in the Community last season and we look forward to building on this as we work hard to help those in need across Liverpool City Region as the country continues to recover from the pandemic and the social issues that have arisen as a result.”
