Known for their vibrant, fun vibes and affordable prices for both food and drinks menus, the group are also keen to invest in their most prized asset: their staff.

As so many local businesses have been discussing the need to recruit and retain talented staff, from chefs to bartenders, Circle & Hen group have launched a ground-breaking financial incentive package to provide staff with a sense of security and worth in an industry sometimes known for its transience. The premise will provide their staff, across all three current sites, with an interest-free 5%t home deposit loan, should they wish to purchase a property with a mortgage for first time buyers.*

As it is becoming more challenging for home purchasers in this demographic to get on the property ladder, the team at Circle & Hen feel that by assisting their staff in this manner, they are helping to provide them with a sense of permanence, as well as encouraging them to grow their careers within the Circle & Hen group.

A spokesperson for Circle & Hen group explains:

“We have been investigating other industries which encourage growth for their employees, both personally and commercially. Hospitality has always had its own superstars, but we wanted to really create a benchmark in terms of support and recognition. Within Circle & Hen group, we have recently developed our own, detailed 15-year business development blueprint, and so obviously it made sense to us to discuss recruiting, retaining, and investing in staff. We also consulted with our current personnel to gain valuable feedback and their message was clear: they desire both job and personal financial security. This scheme has been well thought-out and transparent and has an end point: should an employee then sell their property, then that initial 5 percent interest-free loan would be returned to us. As property prices are rising in the area, we know from talking to our employees that this is a fair transaction for everyone involved.

“We are currently recruiting staff, whilst also promoting apprenticeships within the industry, and we are also keen to keep supporting, and of course retaining, highly trained workers who become such a central and valuable part of our Circle & Hen team. We really foster a family feel both within our pubs and restaurants, and with our staff. We also know that young people in particular feel excluded from the housing market, and so it makes business sense for us to help them build their futures, both in and out of the workplace.”

The Circle & Hen ethos for their staff is ‘your today is our future’ and with the launch of this new scheme, the management team have proved that this is more than just a mantra, but a solid, financial promise for their workforce.
