City set to welcome Liverpool’s first Renegade Rally

This August Renegade Rally will be the first consumer accessible rally launched from Liverpool, with the event starting in the heart of the City at the picturesque Hilton Hotel.

Taking place on 7th August, this is the UK’s newest and most diverse car rally and the first event of it’s kind to start from Liverpool heading up through the North of England to the Scottish Highlands. The 4 day event will see drivers travel from Liverpool to Inverness via the famous NC500 Scottish driving route. The NC500, the UK’s answer to Route 66, is a beautiful scenic drive, popular with many driving and car enthusiasts.

The drivers participating in Renegade Rally will be in branded cars travelling in convoy, stopping off at 6 key places along the way; the Lake District, Clackmannanshire, Inverness, Gairloch, Ullapool and Thurso, finishing the drive in Inverness.

City set to welcome Liverpool's first Renegade Rally

Director, 20 year old Alex Karalius, set up Renegade Rally at the start of 2020 with the view of holding 3 events a year. However, in February he had to cancel the first event due to the coronavirus global pandemic. Having waited until it was safe to do so, he has now re-launched the event, albeit at a reduced size in line with government guidelines.

Alex commented :

‘I’ve been a huge fan of Top Gear since I was a child and I’ve attended many rallies and car festivals. My love for all cars was the driver for me to set up my own business, involving something I enjoy and I am passionate about. I wanted to create an event that was accessible for all types of cars and budgets, as many of the similar events out there are very ‘elitist’ and can be expensive, therefore making them inaccessible for many.’

‘The industry has been controlled by the same big names for a while and we at Renegade Rally are looking to change that, ensuring we offer a programme of events that will be inclusive for every person, every car and every budget.’

The first event will see the drivers cover 1,300 miles in a mixture of Hyundai, Skoda, Volkswagen, Audi and BMW hot hatch, sports and modified cars. As they drive in convoy through the stunning scenery and world famous roads, they will be filmed by the official Renegade Rally film crew.

Renegade Rally are currently planning many more events and will be taking them further afield, to Europe, due to the successful response that the first event has had.
