Host of local DJs to perform at Baltic Triangle Techno event

A host of top local DJs are performing at a festival style techno event in The Baltic Triangle this September.

On Saturday 24th September, from 2pm until 2am, events brands Realm and Open Air come together to put on an all day extravaganza at Checkpoint Charlie’s on Brick Street — with top quality techno on display.

After the sell out success of the previous Realm event, DJ TONi’s brand comes together with Open Air (co-owned with Jamie Sweeney and Michael Graham) to showcase some of the best DJs in the region — in a ‘mini festival’ summer closing party at Checkpoint Charlie’s. The cool outdoor and indoor space will be hosting some of the most talented DJs around for a techno masterclass like no other.

The DJs on the line up have an eye watering portfolio between them — with releases on labels such as We Are The Brave, Viva, Club Bad, Trick and Size. On the day you can expect amazing music, props, festival face and body paint and homemade pizza for that whole festival experience and vibe — a perfect way to close the summer!

Realm owner and organiser TONi said:

“The Liverpool techno scene is so rich with talent so we’ve decided to put on a mini festival to showcase this — to celebrate the amazing DJs of Liverpool. I think it’s really important to support each other and work together to nurture local talent and that’s what Realm is all about.”

“Anyone who came to the last Realm event at checkpoint Charlie’s will tell you what a boss show it was — top quality local DJs and a great crowd! The talent for this next event is unreal — Tenzella has had support from Alan Fitzpatrick and Yousef meanwhile Inafekt has had releases on Patrick Topping’s Trick label. Of course, we all know what Tony Hughes and Truth Be Told are about. It’s going to be a very special event!”

Realm and Open Air have adopted a new initiative for this event to support local DJs — by running a competition for 2 unknown ‘bedroom’ DJs to play at the event. The idea is to promote new undiscovered DJs and give them the opportunity to play alongside and learn from DJs who have made a name for themselves with the best. Any up and coming DJs can send their music via the Realm Facebook page.

If the previous Realm and Open Air events are anything to go by, this mini festival collaboration between the two is set to be unreal — with an incredible line up of top local talent on display! Early bird tickets have almost sold out after only a few days so early signs show that another sell out event is on the cards.

TONi summarized:

“The Liverpool techno scene is a great community and it’s really inspiring when we all look out for each other and support each other. This event will be a perfect example of this and it will be a very proud feeling watching my fellow Scousers smash it in our home city!”
