A new luxury hotel has opened in Liverpool. The Municipal Hotel Liverpool, where one of the world’s top hotel concierges, Adam Lazoryk, has now made Liverpool his home, is currently the city’s only concierge who holds The Golden Keys.
Les Clefs d’Or (The Golden Keys) is a professional hotel concierge association with over 4000 members working in over 80 countries and 530 destinations worldwide, from Los Angeles to Australia. It is a non-profit organisation based on two pillars: service and friendship.
These members belong to an elite fraternity that is globally connected, committed to professional development, and driven to set new standards for guest service excellence. The golden cross on their lapels serves as a visual cue to help them be identified.
Adam grew up in Bradford and participated in a variety of sports as a child, which contributed to his competitive nature and desire to win. It also helped him understand different people’s personalities and how to best help them succeed and achieve their goals, as well as their common goal of winning together.
Adam had the good fortune as a child to travel extensively with his parents on various holidays to all four corners of the globe. All of his travels provided him with wonderful experiences and memories of various types of hotels and how they all worked to the best of their abilities to make their guests happy and provide them with the best stay possible.
In November 2014, he began his career as a concierge at the Queens Hotel in Leeds. They won the top team award at the LHVA (Leeds Hotel and Venue Association) awards in 2015 as part of a team of eight concierges. He had only been at the hotel for six months.
After years of experience as a concierge, he was runner-up two years in a row in the best welcome guest experience and best front-of-house individual or team categories in 2018 and 2019.
In 2021, Adam applied to join the Les Cléf Dor society for concierges, and the same year, he and his front-of-house colleagues were finalists in the team of the year category at the national CHS (Conference Hotel Society) awards. A year later, he was a finalist for the concierge of the year award at the national CHS awards.
Adam sat his exam for joining the Les Clef Dor Golden Keys Society after a successful application, and he is now a full member and the only one in Liverpool.
Throughout his career, he has dealt with numerous famous and non-famous faces and has helped them all receive the best service possible, as no request is too small or too large to complete. When it comes to requests, anything is possible as long as it is legal.
Adam has organised everything from a last-minute Valentine’s Day reservation in a popular restaurant to jumping a New Year’s Eve waiting list of over 300 people to getting his guests into a club to arranging an aeroplane to flypast with a banner and a horse and cart for a proposal to delivering a special item to another country within 12 hours. Nothing is impossible to him because it is all conciergeable.
Adam says: “I hope to be able to serve the guests of The Municipal Hotel Liverpool for many years to come, as nothing is impossible to produce, source, and deliver to enhance the guest experience during their stay with me and my colleagues.”
