Speaking on behalf of the MerseyMade team, founder Vicky Gawith said:

“We are absolutely ecstatic to win the Best Social Media Award at the very first LGBTQ+ Business Awards. The energy on the night was electric and we are honoured to receive such a significant award. MerseyMade was always meant to be an inclusive hub of creativity in the city centre offering a welcoming environment for all. Receiving this award proves what we’ve achieved, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for MerseyMade.”

MerseyMade first opened its doors in November 2019 with a vision to empower local makers and showcase the unique work of artists from all over the region.

After such a turbulent start to the business with lockdown hitting just months after their opening, the fact that MerseyMade has still managed to create such a vibrant and uplifting community, is a credit to the entire team, from the friendly staff to the local makers, resident artists, and loyal customers alike.

To say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported MerseyMade over the past two years, they are hosting their 2nd Birthday celebration on Wednesday 10th November! With fizz on arrival, a raffle raising funds for the Sea Cadets to commemorate their building’s history as the former Gordon Smith Seamen’s Institute and much more, it’s a night not to be missed!

“To have someone enter into our space and feel safe is more than we could ever ask for”. Sophie Green, Resident Studio Artist

“I love working in a space that allows everyone to be themselves, authentically.” Jess Barr, Shop Manager
