Office lunches are back at Lerpwl

Owners of Lerpwl, Liam and Ellis Barrie, are hoping to welcome back people returning to offices in the city after the news of ‘Plan B’ restrictions being lifted.

The venue are hopeful the office returns will give their lunch time trade a boost as face to face meetings get back on the cards and people ditch the zoom in exchange for real life interaction and experiences.

Since opening in September 2020, Lerpwl has been hit with wave after wave of restrictions and the brothers are finally relieved to see light at the end of the tunnel and a chance to showcase their extraordinary restaurant to the people of Liverpool.

Liam Barrie said: “We are excited to be able to plan ahead and to know that we can confidently remain open without the fear of further restrictions being implemented is a great feeling. The hospitality industry has been hugely affected as people know and for Ellis and I it has been a rollercoaster that’s for sure!”

Lerpwl has the perfect lunchtime menu called Capricious. Presented as a shorter taster menu, the Capricious regularly changes as it is based on the freshest of seasonal produce available, it is influenced by the flavours and techniques of the Chef’s Menu but truly embodies the experimental nature and creative flair of their chefs.

Served Wednesday – Saturday 12:00 – 14:30 and priced at £35.00 it is the perfect menu to enjoy over a lunch meeting. For those after the full Lerpwl experience, the taster menu is also on offer at lunchtime Wednesday – Sunday.

Ellis Barrie who is currently appearing on BBC 1’s Ready Steady Cook said: “To be able to look ahead after such a volatile period feels great, lunchtime trade has been affected as people were just not coming into the city centre as they usually would have. We also lost Christmas parties in December following the announcement to increase restrictions. We are hoping now that this means a return to the office and get back to face to face meetings and lunches. We are also hoping the spring will see the visitor economy returning to Liverpool, which again will be a great boost as the Albert Dock offers tourists so much to see and do.”
