The Base, one of Liverpool’s recently established wellness cafes, offers visitors the opportunity to embrace the Christmas atmosphere with its new festive menu, which prominently features sustainable specials.

Situated on the first level of The Spine in Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter, The Base offers an ideal environment for enjoying quick and convenient lunch options, take-away food, and a refreshing afternoon coffee, all amidst a delightful array of Christmas decorations.

Introducing their latest offerings for the season: a variety of sandwiches to choose from. Among them is the Festive Turkey Club, which consists of tender turkey breast bacon, lettuce, tomato, and cranberry sauce. Additionally, we have the Christmas Dinner panini, which includes turkey, stuffing, sweet braised red cabbage, and cheddar. Individuals with a strong liking for sweet food can also treat themselves to cakes that have delightful flavours of chocolate orange and stem ginger.

Patrons seeking a dose of caffeine can indulge in a freshly made gingerbread latte from Neighbourhood, a local coffee expert in Liverpool. Each hot beverage is served with a complimentary miniature mince pie, exemplifying the spirit of generosity during this festive season. In addition, during The Base’s extended operating hours on Thursdays, patrons can indulge in a Gingerbread Espresso Martini as a delightful pre-weekend indulgence.

By using the freshest local produce and surplus ingredients from Spaces at The Spine, the menu encourages healthy eating habits and supports a zero-waste agenda.

Jim Chatwin, Head Chef at The Base, says:

“We’re excited to present a festive menu that gets creative with traditional festive ingredients while reflecting our commitment to sustainability. We believe in creating culinary experiences where every bite is a step towards a greener future, so join us at The Base this winter and enjoy a Christmas celebration that makes a difference.”

The specials complement an already delectable menu of substantial and nourishing meals that adhere to the WELL Building Standard, establishing The Base as the most health-conscious establishment in the North West.
