The Watering Can in Greenbank Park has enjoyed a bumper Sunday Roast season. It has welcomed guests from all over the North West and served over 2,500 of its famous roasts, ‘As good as ya Ma’s’.

With only one more Sunday to go until the roasting tins are put away to make way for the spring/summer menu, the team have welcomed guests from all over the North-West to sample their perfectly cooked Sunday favourite.

The much-loved venue has served in excess of a whopping 1,500 succulent chicken supremes, 320kg of beef rump, peeled and expertly roasted 500kg of the finest potatoes, 240kg of honey-roasted carrots, sacks full of healthy greens and thousands of Yorkshire puddings. Topped off with over  375 litres of home-made gravy, which is a three-day process to make sure that the final result is rich and bursting with flavour.

Recent winners of the Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards for Café/Bistro of the Year, the award-winning team is gearing up for one more busy Sunday before they refresh their menus to include all the spring/summer seasonal favourites. Final touches are being made to the new menu, which will be available from 15th April, with full details to be announced shortly.

Owner Keith Perryman said:

“The team are passionate about serving a Sunday Roast that feels lovingly home-made. This roast season has been our busiest yet and our customers have  travelled far and wide to enjoy them. As we are a relatively small venue we like to refresh the menu for the spring and summer months to ensure that over the year, we are keeping things fresh and interesting for our customers. The new menu will be bursting with seasonal produce and include some spring/summer customer favourites”.

With only one more  Sunday to go for the famous Watering Can roast,  places are filling fast and early booking is highly recommended to enjoy the legendary Watering Can Sunday Roast ‘as good as ya Ma’s’

Two-courses (Starter and a main course) costs £26 per person and dietaries are catered for. For the full menu please see the website. For telephone bookings please call 0151 319 2366.

The last Sunday Roast of the season will be served on Sunday 7th April and a date will be announced later in the year for the much anticipated ‘Return of the Roast’ in the autumn.
