First thing people usually wanna do is go to one of the tallest buildings to get a panoramic view. We recommend you choose the Rockefella over the Empire State.
The views are so much better (and you get to see the Empire State) as well as the experience as a whole. The Empire State viewing deck can become very crammed whereas the Rockefella seems to have a lot more space with more than one deck to choose from.

How to get there: If you’re staying close to Times Square then it’s in walking distance. If you’re staying downtown NYC then it’s worth getting a Hop On Hop Off buss ticket, which will take you right to it.
