Two of Liverpool’s best loved bars have spruced up their cocktail menus to keep the chills at bay this winter.
The master mixologists at BoBo, Liverpool’s only authentic Iberian bar on Castle Street, and at 80s old school cool neighbourhood bar, Abditory on Queen Avenue, have been hard at it and are introducing 14 new sophisticated drinks that will keep the sun switched on and the winter nights warm.
BoBo, with its bright Spanish lemon frontage, already boasts a summery wine list promoting the best of Spain and Portugal’s finest producers and now being added to their classic house cocktails are:
· STRAWBERRY RUM’BLE IN THE JUNGLE– strawberry, dark rum, lychee, lime, vanilla
· PINA COLADA OLD FASHIONED – Bacardi coconut, plantation pineapple, vanilla, angostura
· THE OLDEST PROFESSION – Monkey Shoulder, passionfruit, Prosecco, soda
· BLOWING UP THE BARRIO – Bombay gin, peche liqueur, earl grey syrup, lemonade
· LATIN SWING – spiced rum, pineapple, passionfruit, lime, Ting
· WATERMELON & BASIL MARGARITA – El Sueño tequila, cazcabel, lime, watermelon, fresh basil
· BOM DIA PUNCH – gin, Aperol, honey, citrus, white wine, cranberry
Two minutes away on the little ‘jigger’ that joins Castle and Dale streets, Abditory is mixing up a storm that will keep the cockles heated:
· FORZA RABARBARO – rhubarb infused Grey Goose, Pataka ginger liqueur, Cocchi di Torino, rhubarb bitters
· WHAT’S UP DOC? – carrot infused Skane Akvavit, Bombay Sapphire, Oloroso sherry, carrot syrup, apple foam, lime, demerara syrup
· RASPBERRY MOJITO – Bacardi carta blanca, apple, lime, raspberry, soda
· ALL NIGHT LONG – Bacardi reserva ocho rum, Passoa, pineapple, orange, lime, passionfruit, ginger ale
· NARROW SIDECAR – Courvoisier VS brandy, St Germain elderflower, lemon, agave, orange
· SUNSET BLVD – Prosecco, vodka, Passoa, lemon, pineapple, grenadine, vanilla
· CHOCOLATE MEXICANA – chilli infused Patron Silver, Creme de Cacao, Oloroso sherry, chocolate bitters
Steven Burgess, of Lucky Penny Group, owners and operators of both bars said:
“It’s getting darker and colder so we want to bring more sunshine and warmth to our menus with some fun and delicious drinks that we have been developing and testing over the last few months. There are some twists on classic cocktails and others which will provide a warm holiday glow. And, of course they will help usher in the party spirit as we approach the end of the year and start a new one.”
