World’s biggest chocolate egg hunt coming to Southport this Easter

During the Easter holidays, families can participate in the Dinormous Egg Hunt and win one of eight giant chocolate eggs.

The Egg Hunt that is unlike any other will showcase some of the biggest chocolate eggs ever produced. Enormous, dinosaur-inspired delicacies will be concealed in various spots throughout Southport.

An event called DinoTown Southport is scheduled to occur in the town centre from 29 March to 14 April, featuring brick-built dinosaurs and various themed activities that will be available for free.

Dino Rangers have been assigned the responsibility of discovering the eggs and participating in an enjoyable competition with the help of an activity map. Six fortunate participants will be selected at random to receive a Dinormous egg as a prize to take home.

The chocolates are of an enormous size, spanning 3ft, and have a massive weight of 25kg!

Chocolate Whirled, a confectionery company based in Southport, was given the responsibility of producing the eggs. These eggs were mainly made from Belgian milk chocolate and were given a marbled appearance by using both white and dark chocolate.

It was necessary to have at least two people to move the enormous treats, and each egg required 12 hours to assemble. The dinosaur figures were formed from cocoa butter of various colors, while the butterflies were produced using wafer paper.

At Ocean Plaza, Vue Cinema and Matalan will hold Mini Dino Egg Hunts, where visitors can win two additional eggs. The egg hunt will be a smaller activity, with multiple smaller eggs to be found at both locations.

Activity maps will be available soon (in both print and digital form) from locations in the town centre and online.
