SERIES ONE – EDITION ELEVEN
In the eleventh edition in our Faces of Liverpool series we caught up with Jennifer John, from Liverpool’s Georgian Quarter; a Creative Director, Vocal coach, Composer, Music Mentor, Lecturer, Motivational speaker.
What do you love about Liverpool?
So many things but mostly the warmth, passion and good humour of the people.
Name one main thing about living in Liverpool that makes you proud?
The contribution I have been able to make to the creative infrastructure of the music scene.
If you could describe Liverpool in 3 words what would they be?
Razor sharp wit.
Name one place in Liverpool that holds a special place in your heart?
The Anglican Cathedral. The stunning enormity and the dynamism of the architecture. The brief when it was designed by George Gilbert Scott was that it should be awesome and intimate no matter where in the building you are. It achieves that in amazing balance and I absolutely love it.
Is there anything on your ‘Bucket List’ to do in Liverpool that your still yet to achieve?
Yes but that would be telling. I will say that plans are underway though to do something creatively momentous which I hope will break a few world records and leave a powerful legacy in the city and beyond.
Do you have any tales of Liverpool or claim to fame while in the city?
So many but for me the highlight was opening the show for Nile Rogers and Chic at The M&S Arena in 20017 with my choir, Sense of Sound Singers. It was incredible.
