Laros brings authentic high-quality Greek street food to Liverpool

Bold Street is now home to authentic high-quality Greek street food venue, Laros.

The venue, which is a hybrid between a restaurant and takeaway, is the first of its kind, with stunning interiors for those who are dining in, as well as delicious dishes that can also be enjoyed at home.

Owner Nikolaos Fylladitakis has worked in the hospitality industry for many years, owning his own restaurants in the city.

Originally from Crete, the entrepreneur is keen to showcase authentic Greek cuisine that is of the highest quality, with the majority of Laros’ ingredients, including the meat and dairy sourced and imported directly from Greece.

Other ingredients that cannot come from Greece, are locally sourced using trusted independents.

Laros has been created to deliver the true authenticity of Greek street food, with delicious chicken or pork gyros and chicken, pork or lamb souvlaki. It’s a place where people can enjoy the ease of street food, whilst also experiencing the essence of fine cuisine.

Other menu staples include Laros’ ‘better than halloumi’ Talagani cheese fries, as well as the No Carb Box and vegan pita wrap (made with a traditional island recipe for chickpea fritters) . There’s also a range of deliciously fresh and authentic salads on the menu including a classic Greek salad, a Politiki cabbage-based salad and Cretan Dakos salad with tomatoes and olives.

For dessert, Laros is introducing Loukoumades to Liverpool for the very first time. Loukoumades are little sweet Greek donut balls served traditionally with honey syrup and chopped walnuts but Laros has put its own twist on the classic with the addition of lavender to its honey syrup. Of course, for those true lovers of chocolate, Laros brings to you Loukoumades with white chocolate or hazelnut filling.

Laros has chosen to complete the culinary journey to Greece with a selection of Greek soft drinks- LOUX- orange, lemon and sour cherry, a variety of beers including Mythos, Alfa, Fix and Keo and a selected range of local Greek wines. Laros is also serving a selection of mouth-watering alcoholic slushies that are perfect for enjoying in the summer weather (these can also be made non-alcoholic too).

Nikolaos Fylladitakis, said:

“Laros means delicious and this is what we promise to you: High quality, healthy, authentic Greek street food. Our aim is to guide you through a journey of true Greek flavours as we would enjoy them back home, and to put an end to the misconception that street food cannot be made with the finest ingredients and the care of fine dining.

In Crete,  “philoxenia” i.e the love for strangers, eagerness to show hospitality is the core of our culture.  When we welcome you into our home we are telling you something: We want you to feel part of the family, to enjoy our finest wine, our best cut of meat, to feel our culture and travel through our history. We take great pride in offering our guests our best food and warmest stories. Here in Laros, we promise you just that: a delicious warm welcome and an introduction to the real Greek cuisine, an amalgamation of street food, authenticity and comfort.”

Laros is open seven days a week from 12pm-11pm. There are no bookings for tables; Laros accepts walk-ins and collections.
