M·A·C Cosmetics has officially selected Grosvenor Europe’s Liverpool ONE for its latest 2,654 sq ft store.
Set to launch on 10 April 2020, the cult beauty powerhouse has taken space at 104 Paradise Street, in the heart of the retail and leisure destination.
Serving as the city’s flagship, the new Liverpool
ONE store will offer M·A·C Cosmetics’ extensive range of cruelty-free
makeup, skincare, brushes and accessories.
Further to M·A·C’s signing,
Liverpool ONE has also facilitated the relocation of jewelry and accessory
retailer Swarovski to 46/47 South John Street. After 12 successful trading at
the destination the brand is moving to a new space neighbouring Victoria’s
Secret, Zara and & Other Stories to showcase its premium jewellery,
watches, accessories and decorative collections.
Alison Clegg, Director, Asset Management, Grosvenor Europe, commented on the openings:
“Liverpool ONE’s retail strategy is driven by an in-depth knowledge of our visitors, their preferences, and spending trends. The introduction of M·A·C Cosmetics is in direct response to this, with an identified demand for the international beauty brands only growing.
“As well as bringing in new brands, it is equally
important that we ensure tenants are in the most effective unit formats. Since
launching, Swarovski has been a top-performing brand at Liverpool ONE, and
we’re sure the retailer’s new home on South John Street will only enhance this
success.”
M·A·C Cosmetics was
founded in Toronto in 1984 by Frank Toskan and Frank Angelo, with the ethos to
create products “by makeup artists, for makeup artists”. While initially
intended for professionals, word-of-mouth endorsement and unsolicited
endorsement from celebrities including Madonna and Mariah Carey created a
phenomenon of consumer demand.
Owned by Estee Lauder, M·A·C is a
leading global makeup authority, priding itself on celebrating individuality
and self-expression. The trend-setting brand is sold today in over 105
countries and a firm fixture at over 200 fashion week shows across the world.
The M·A·C Cosmetics and
Swarovski announcements follow the opening of heritage beauty brands
Penhaligon’s and relaunch of Kiehl’s, both within Peter’s Lane earlier this
year. As well, key cosmetics retailers including Jo Malone, Morphe and Too
Faced have all opened at the destination in the last twelve months.
Cushman and Wakefield and Metis acted for Liverpool ONE. Cushman & Wakefield represented M·A·C Cosmetics.
