Premier League: Manchester United vs Liverpool; Old rivals meet again!

Manchester United versus Liverpool is always a special one.

Two of the biggest clubs in the country, in Europe and in the world coming up against each other always warrants a big build up.

This time round though it’s not as big as it has been before.

Both sides league seasons are more or less over.

Manchester United are all set to finish second and secure Champions League football for next season whilst Liverpool are all set to end up in the Europa League which is hugely disappointing.

Put that on top of the fact the Premier League this season has been a tedious long stretch for the league past couple of months.

One thing this game can confirm though is that Manchester City will be champions.

If Liverpool win it will mean that Solskjaer’ team can no longer catch their city rivals.

Manchester City will take their crown back off Liverpool but only if Jurgen Klopp can win his first league game at Old Trafford.

Klopp said in his press conference: “It will be a tough game, intense. We saw last night Man Utd and they are good! Especially when you let them play. They were flying.

“I am pretty sure United still feel they have a chance.  Both teams have to win it which is a good recipe for the game.”

A loss to Manchester United would just be salt into the wound for the Liverpool supporters this season so it would be a nice surprise for them to put in a good performance.

There is no new injuries for once which is a positive but also there is no one back available which would hint at Nat Phillips missing out again.

Play centre back for Liverpool and you will get injured, that’s been the curse this season.

Thank goodness it’s coming to an end anyway, hopefully next season there’s a sense of the old football back.
