With the coronavirus outbreak sweeping the nation, many people have falling poorly due to the horrible virus. Two people infected with COVID-19 included local Liverpool actor Sam Kane and his wife Linda Lusardi, who both suffered serve symptoms causing both to be hospitalised.
Both now on the road to recovery, Sam took it upon himself to write a song about the heroic NHS, to show his support of the selfless members of staff putting their lives on the line day in day out to conquer the virus while saving lives.
Teaming up with local professional Stand-Up Comedian John Martin, John suggested to unite the city as one putting a football theme spin on the song. John, with his list of EFC/LFC legends, decided to get as many involved in the amazing cause to each sing a line of the track, with a little help from Liverpool singer Asa Murphy to tidy up the edges!
The song Everpool FC Salutes the NHS, sees the video include footballing heroes across both teams including Ian Rush, Roy Evans, Joe Royle, Peter Reid, Michael Owen, Bruce Grobbelaar, Kevin Campbell, Jan Molby, John Aldridge, Barry Horne and many more homegrown favourites such as Ricky Tomlinson and Tony Bellew.
The track will be raising money for Compass Counselling in Liverpool, a charity which provides a vital service to the people of Merseyside, helping those suffering from depression, anxiety, bereavement, the effects of childhood abuse, relationship problems and stress.
Any money raised will be in memory of the late football legend Gary Speed.
