January usually calls for new goals and booking things to look forward to for the year ahead.

Despite the cost of living challenges, Brit’s aren’t ready to give up the luxury of travel after missing out for so long during Covid.

With January being the Travel Industry’s busiest month for bookings, Nichola Court, an Independent Travel Advisor and owner of Escape Savvy, has provided her top ten travel tips on booking holidays, when to book and how to save each time.

Taking care of her client’s holidays from start to finish and researching, suggesting and looking after the finer details that make each client’s holiday unique and special, Nichola from Halewood, suggests using a travel agent for that expert advice to build your dream holiday.

With so many travel providers available now, it’s difficult to know who to trust – using an agent gives you a priceless, peace of mind guarantee that they’re on hand to ensure your holiday is fully protected.

And on top of that, Nichola’s travel advice is completely free and guarantees at least a 10% saving when booking via Escape Savvy.

Escape Savvy’s top ten travel tips:

  • Best day to travel price wise: Friday
  • Best day to book: Sunday
  • Cheapest months to travel: September and November
  • Book in advance – Usually, flights are released 11 months in advance and the initial release is when prices are the cheapest so be organised!
  • Be flexible: We’re all busy and often only have set windows for travel in our calendars, but be open to options. For my clients, I want to get the best possible holiday within the time they have so being open to different ideas is key.
  • Check the travel rules for the country you’re visiting: Your travel agent can help you with this as it’s often different in various countries. Do you need a VISA? Any vaccinations? Additional paperwork?
  • Travel Insurance is a non negotiable!: It’s really not worth finding out the hard way that the devastating effects both emotionally and financially it can have if you travel without insurance and the worst happens.
  • Check your passport is in date and has six months before it expires on the return date of your planned travel.
  • Most airlines allow you to take children’s car seats for free – Legislation for the legal requirements based around car seats can be very different in Europe and other countries so be aware of this.
  • Download a translator and money conversion app before you go!

Nichola Court of Escape Savvy explained:

“January is an incredibly busy time for the Travel Industry as holidaymakers flock to book their Easter, Bank Holiday and summer trips. I’ve provided these top tips to make booking holidays easier, but my number one piece of advice would always be to use a travel agent. It’s the easiest way to know your holiday is protected whilst utilising their expert advice.

‘Many online sites don’t offer ABTA and ATOL protection but all of the suppliers I work with are fully protected and we’ve done all of the hard work so that our clients don’t have to! There’s so many destinations that it can make finding the best place to visit, hotel, board, excursions and flights quite overwhelming. I take care of my clients’ holidays from start to finish, answering any questions and giving support whenever it’s needed.

“Adding to this, my travel agent services are completely free! My clients don’t pay me a fee to help them. When we’re spending our hard-earned savings on quality time away with family or friends, you want to have the best experience possible and I’m here to facilitate that, with a saving of at least 10% on your holiday when booking through Escape Savvy.”
