Liverpool’s newest music & nightlife venue ‘Jimmy’s’ officially opens its doors

After a superb launch night and one hell of a first performance night which seen The Coral wow the crowds, Jimmy’s has officially opened its doors on Liverpool’s Bold Street.

Following a total refit of the former Cabin Club premises, the team behind the Jimmy’s brand have transformed the infamous Havelock Building into a rock ‘n’ roll haven incorporating features such as neon signage, classic lava lamps and bespoke posters and prints to name a few.

Owned by duo George and Jimmy Craig, the venue will span three floors including a basement stage area with a 250 capacity alongside a tailormade ground floor bar complete with booth-style seating.

George said: “After months of work, we’re so excited to finally open our doors to the public and show Liverpool what we’re all about. We’ve got a new 30-strong team of staff who are just as eager as we are to get stuck in and show off the venue, not to mention a host of incredible bands that are already lined up to play in the coming months.

“There’s been a lot of work that’s gone into this venue to make it unlike anything else in the city, including one-of-a-kind neon signage featuring the iconic St John’s Beacon, all handmade by Optimum Signs of Preston. As well as this, we’ve included a little nod to the psychedelic 60’s era with 50 Lava Lamps that have all been created especially for Jimmy’s Liverpool by the world renowned Mathmos Lava Lamps of Poole.”

Jimmy’s Liverpool is the second site founded by the brothers-turned-business partners with the original Jimmy’s established in Manchester’s Northern Quarter in 2016.

Jimmy added: “We wanted this new venue to perfectly complement our existing site in Manchester whilst still offering something totally unique which is why we’ve really spent the last few months putting our heart and soul into refurbishing this iconic Liverpool building. The place itself has so much musical heritage and certainly has a following within the region so it was important to us to play homage to that whilst also adding in elements of Jimmy’s rock ‘n’ roll vibe with musical touches like an elevated DJ booth and a drum kit above the bar.”

“We are sure that the people of Liverpool will love Jimmy’s just as much as we do, and we can’t wait to see people’s reaction when they arrive here for the first time. There are so many different visual elements within the entire building as we aim to create a real sensory experience for those opting to have a drink with us or coming to support an up and coming artist at one of our gigs.”
