Port Sunlight Village to host a New food and drink festival this Easter

This Easter weekend, Port Sunlight village will host a new food and drink festival featuring some of the best local makers in Wirral and Merseyside.

The Sugar & Spice Festival, organised by the Port Sunlight Village Trust and the renowned neighbourhood chocolate shop The Chocolate Cellar, will be open on Friday, March 29 and Saturday, March 30 from 9.30am to 5pm. It will occupy the lovely Diamond Park and Museum Green, which are located in the village’s centre across from the Lady Lever Art Gallery.

The festival will feature more than 20 stalls where guests can explore and savour a variety of flavours from around the world. Admission is free. The festival will provide something to satisfy every palate and allow guests to try something new, from rich chocolate and homemade honey to Indian wraps and Lebanese pastries.

The incredible flavours of Liverpool Cheese Company, Pen Y Lan Pork, Cake House Wirral, and Seasoned Pioneers, to mention a few, are some of the sweet and fiery highlights. A taste of Port Sunlight itself will also be available to visitors, thanks to Sunlight Bees, whose honey-based products are made in the village, and village-based illustrator Katie Tyson, who will showcase her striking fabrics, cards, and prints.

Popular Easter trail in Port Sunlight will also be running over March 29 and 30. Families are encouraged to explore the village in search of clues with a bee theme and redeem a chocolate reward. A pair of wings and bee boppers are included with each ticket, which costs £6. Due to the Easter trail’s limited capacity, families are advised to make bookings in advance to avoid disappointment. Tickets can be purchased at here

Charlene Davies, Public Programme Manager at Port Sunlight Village Trust, said:

“We’re so excited to be working with The Chocolate Cellar to present this brand new food and drink festival and what better setting for it than the beautiful village of Port Sunlight? It’s going to be a magical two days filled with fantastic flavours and family fun thanks to our ever-popular Easter trail, so we hope to see lots of visitors treating themselves to something tasty and discovering our special village.”

Bala Croman, owner of The Chocolate Cellar, said:

“I am so excited that this festival has come together. Port Sunlight is such a beautiful setting for bringing together fabulous food and drink. I have long dreamt of a little family festival with the brilliant delights that our stall holders are offering. I’m hoping for an enchanting weekend and really excited to bring everyone together. Thanks to Port Sunlight for enabling this and working with me!”
